The domestic entertainment industry has recorded another major milestone with the birth of an ambitious, cross-genre music collaboration. Award-winning actress Haico Van Der Veken has officially teamed up with one of Indonesia's top female DJs, DJ Yasmin, for an innovative duo-single project. The initial step of this large-scale project was marked by the release of a high-energy, hypnotic techno track titled "Control Myself" on Sunday (24/05/2026).
This collaboration brings together two massive names from entirely different stages. Haico Van Der Veken is widely recognized as a talented actress who previously won Favorite Lead Actress at the Indonesian Drama Series Awards—and has even been dubbed "Indonesia's Dua Lipa" due to her distinct vocal character and charm. Meanwhile, DJ Yasmin is a legendary figure in the national electronic music scene, once honored with "The Queen of Spin" title by the Rolling Stone Editors' Awards. Combining their reputations is projected to shift the local electronic dance music (EDM) landscape.
Before officially releasing the track to the public across various digital platforms, the celebration of this massive collaboration kicked off with a star-studded launch party on Tuesday night, May 19, 2026. Held at Babylon in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), Central Jakarta, the event was reportedly packed to full capacity. A crowd of fans, digital influencers, and elite figures from the entertainment industry turned out for the exclusive premiere of the "Control Myself" music video.
Structurally, this major project was developed under the guidance of a visionary team. Hisham Hussien serves as the Creative Producer, alongside prominent digital influencer Mutiara Fitriani, who holds the position of Project Coordinator and serves as the initial spark behind the collaboration idea.
From Intense Electronic to "Hipdut"
The project initiated by Haico and DJ Yasmin doesn't stop at just one single. The production team has designed a release blueprint that splits the two singles into completely contrasting genre trends. This strategy was intentionally chosen to test the adaptability of both artists while capturing a much broader market share.
After introducing an intense, late-night techno vibe through "Control Myself," the duo is scheduled to shake up the music market again at the end of June 2026. The second single, titled "Moving On," is planned to feature a unique and unconventional blend for the local industry: a marriage between hip-hop and dangdut, popularly known as "hipdut."
Choosing Babylon SCBD for the premiere launch was considered a tactical and highly representative move. Management revealed that the premium nightlife destination was carefully selected to align with the song’s upscale, dynamic energy, fitting right into modern Jakarta's clubbing trends. The venue's interior atmosphere and lighting design were seen as the perfect fit to instantly translate the audiovisual vibe of "Control Myself" to the invited guests.
Currently, "Control Myself" is widely accessible to the public on major digital music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. In addition, the official music video showcasing the performance visuals of Haico and DJ Yasmin has been officially uploaded to YouTube.

A Vision for Building a Long-Term Music Brand
The involvement of Hisham Hussien adds significant weight to this project. Hisham is an experienced Marketing Director whose track record in the performing arts and cinema is well-proven—notably having successfully overseen the stage production of Grease: The Musical in February 2025.
In his official statement, Hisham Hussien emphasized that the collaboration project between Haico and DJ Yasmin was not designed as an overnight, instant industry product just to cash in on temporary hype. There is a clear, long-term target being chased through mature audio architecture.
"We want to create a concept that continuously captures the listeners' attention, leaves a profound impression, and goes further so that this single can live on for a very long time, rather than just being a passing trend," Hisham Hussien stated in a written release.
Hisham added that today's digital music market moves incredibly fast, meaning a piece of work needs a powerful cultural identity so it doesn't get buried in streaming algorithms. Integrating Haico’s elegant yet pop-leaning persona with DJ Yasmin's expertise at the turntables is expected to create strong product differentiation in the market.
"This collaboration isn't just about releasing a song; it's about shifting the cultural landscape by blending two different worlds to build a timeless music brand," Hisham asserted regarding the vision behind choosing techno and hipdut arrangements.
Experimenting with Genre Boundaries in the Local Industry
On the other hand, tactical coordination and aligning the creative vision on the ground are under the management of Mutiara Fitriani. As the Project Coordinator, Mutiara saw massive potential from the very first time she brought both female artists together in the recording studio. According to her, production on the first single ran relatively smoothly due to a shared professional vision between both talents.
Mutiara explained that the core strength of "Control Myself" lies in the organic dynamics built during the production process. Haico’s adaptive vocal character perfectly complements the electronic beats crafted by DJ Yasmin without overlapping.
"The chemistry between Haico and DJ Yasmin is incredible, and you can feel that pure energy immediately in 'Control Myself.' We want to deliver a project that breaks down structural boundaries in the local music industry," Mutiara Fitriani said.
Furthermore, Mutiara explained that jumping from a heavy electronic track to an urban-traditional vibe next month is a bold but calculated experiment. Management remains optimistic that the domestic market is currently much more open to genre-bending.
"Shifting from an intense techno track straight into an addictive hipdut vibe next month. This is just the beginning of what these two extraordinary musicians can achieve," Mutiara concluded.
With the release of "Control Myself," the music industry's attention is now fixed on how the market will respond to the upcoming musical transition from Haico Van Der Veken and DJ Yasmin in June. Industry observers note that the success of this two-single project could set a new precedent for cross-sector collaborations between mainstream actors and electronic musicians in Indonesia.
